Tuscaloosa City School’s assistant superintendent of curriculum, Dr. Elisabeth Davis, will jump out of an airplane with the United States Army Knights Parachute Team on Oct. 4 at Talladega Super Speedway. Recruiting and Scholarships Officer for the ROTC program at UAB, Jason Garcia, asked Dr. Davis to jump in tandem with the team. They will be honoring educational leaders who promote post-secondary education.

“I am so excited about this opportunity,” Dr. Davis said. “It’s always been on my bucket list, so to do it and to collaborate with the UAB ROTC program is an added bonus.”

Dr. Davis’ sky diving debut will be on Oct. 4 at Talladega Super Speedway between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Now, when I was in school, I would've been happy to hear of an administrator jumping out of a plane, sans the parachute, of course. Hey! I was a kid.
