Here's one way to circumvent the law: Get your victim to marry you!

Matthew Shane Wester, who resigned from his position as a math teacher and coach at Cleveland High School, was indicted on charges that he "intentionally and knowingly engaged with a male or female student under the age of 19 in sexual contact which was done for the purpose of gratifying the sexual desire of either party, to wit - kissing and spending the night with the victim."

That victim is said to be 18-year-old Amy Nicole Cox, who graduated from high school in May. Wester and Cox obtained a marriage license in Cullman County on June 8 and were married in Gulf Shores on Saturday. Full story.

Should spousal privilege (which states that a person can not be forced to testify for or against his/her spouse) be allowed in such a case?
