(Yes, "Who Made the Potatoe Salad?" is a movie but not what this post is about.)

I don't know about many cultures, but I know in the Black community, we have NO PROBLEM asking who made a variety of dishes.  Let's face it, it's kinda hard to mess up meat.  But when it comes to sides, we all have family members that are better at some dishes than others: dressing, greens, sweet potatoes, and potato salad. These probably top the list of the dishes about which we're most picky.

A few months ago, my friend Bryan and I were talking about his birthday party, and he raved about how much his guests enjoyed the potato salad of all things. I asked him for the recipe, and he told me where I could get it.  I haven't tried it yet, but here's one that I HAVE had, and it's the ONLY potato salad I like.

INGREDIENTS

1/2 cup Marzetti® Original Slaw Dressing

4 medium cooked potatoes, cold, pared and diced

2 eggs, hard boiled, shelled and chopped

1/2 cup celery, chopped

1/4 cup sweet pickle relish

2 tbsp. fresh red bell peppers, diced (optional)

to taste salt and pepper

PREPARATION

Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Mix well. Chill to blend flavors. Garnish with more hard boiled eggs and tomato wedges, if desired. - See more at: http://www.marzettikitchens.com/kitchens/recipes/detail/228/old-fashioned-potato-salad#sthash.qtX80maL.dpuf
