If you've driven through the intersection of Veterans Memorial Pkwy and University Blvd anytime in the last month or so, you've undoubtedly seen this gentleman in front of Bojangles. What I saw when I passed through this morning simply amazed me.

Weeks ago, this video was circulating on Facebook.

It shows the gentleman holding a sign that says "Jesus Will Save You." He's there daily for hours on end. At the end of the video, we see a vehicle pull up. The driver hops out, gives the evangelist a meal, and then holds the sign in his place.

I'd passed by this gentleman numerous times, and seeing him there always made me smile; but admittedly, I'd never thought about stopping to join him. I messaged the driver of that vehicle, identified as Tim Badgwell, and this was part of what he said about his experience:

I just felt like God wanted me to have breakfast with him that day. I'm glad I did. He has touched so many people with a truly amazing but simple task. I was honored to be a part of it. If you get a chance, go by there and say hi to him. He'd love to talk to you.

During my lunch break this morning, I found myself in the same area and decided to check and see if he was there because the rain was coming down quite steadily. I couldn't grab a picture because I was driving, but I was able to shoot video, and this is a still moment from my video.

Yes, he was out there in the rain, still holding his sign. It's a shame that many of us will let rain stop us from going into a building to fellowship with others who believe as we do yet this gentleman stood in the rain to continue to share his message. I guess somebody needs to receive the message even on a rainy day.
