If you heard all the side effects of medicines on the TV commercials, you are probably like me, asking if anything is safe to take.

When I hear side effects include dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, constipation, and fainting, unusual changes in behavior, thoughts of suicide, and a stroke.

Why should we be excited about taking any medicine?  I am not. I am afraid that I’ll be the one to suffer one of the more serious side effects.

And what even crazier a recent study by researchers at Dartmouth University and the University of Wisconsin found that “potentially misleading claims are prevalent throughout consumer-targeted prescription and nonprescription drug advertising on television.”  The study found that 33 percent of the most emphasized claims in prescription and over the counter drug ads were objectively true, while 57 percent were potentially misleading, and 10 percent were false.  Read more here
