The lowest gas prices in the US? We’ve got em!

If you're on the road to visit family and friends this weekend, you can add one more thing to be thankful for.  Gasa prices in Alabama are the lowest in the nation this weekend.

According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of gas in Alabama this weekend is $2.233, over a dollar a gallon less than the $3.256 in Alaska, the highest int he nation.  Around us, the average in Mississippi is $2.252, Georgia $2.370, Tennessee $2.296 and Florida at $2.469.  Overall, the national average price for a gallon of gas this Thanksgiving is $2.521, down from $2.562 a week ago.

Thanksgiving is tradionally the year's busiest travel day, and AAA predicts that Thanksgiving 2017 will be see the most travel of any Thanksgiving in 12 years.
