  • According to officials at the University of Alabama, the UA Office of Veterans and Military Affairs is hosting a series of events across campus this week.  A highlight will be the office’s grand opening Friday, November 16th from 2 to 4pm in 1 B.B. Comer, which will include the unveiling of a WWI memorial plaque and a special presentation by the American Fallen Soldiers Project. 

 

  • Although the Alabama Democratic Party lost all of its statewide elected offices, it still holds a majority of the elected offices in county courthouses statewide, despite the fact that the GOP is said to have had a net gain of 45 county offices on November 6th. 

 

  • Following President Obama’s reelection a week ago, the White House petition website is said to have been flooded by angry residents of solidly conservative states, requesting that their states be allowed to secede from the union.

 

  • Though she got off to a rough start with Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj says she’s having a great time on “Idol” and no one’s going to run her off that *bleep* show.
