- KaBOOM! has awarded a grant to build a playground in Tuscaloosa through collaboration with PNC Bank, United Way of West Alabama, and The Tuscaloosa County Park and Recreation Authority. - Circuit Judge Bob Vance ruled yesterday that the state attorney general's office can destroy the gambling machines seized in the first casino raid in 2009. The makers of the machines said they no longer wanted the machines because they are outdated.
- The FDA is cracking down on Sunland, a New Mexico peanut butter plant that had repeated food safety violations over several years. Salmonella was found in numerous locations after an outbreak sickened 41 people in 20 states.
