Tuscaloosa Police say 23-year-old Kacie Blankenship has been identified as the mother of the newborn abandoned at DCH Regional Medical Center in September. She is currently being held in the Limestone County jail on other charges, and once that case is resolved, a warrant for Chemical Endangerment of a Child will be served. Blankenship also has outstanding warrants in Shelby County.

The third event in the Tuscaloosa City Schools' Parents+ series will be Saturday, January 25.
