• Relief agencies and volunteers have been helping out victims of the Christmas Day tornadoes that hit the state, and yesterday, Governor Bentley toured the Mobile area. The governor says it isn't clear yet whether Alabama will qualify for federal aid to help with recovery from the tornado outbreak and the officials are still gathering damage assessments from multiple counties. 

 

  • District Attorney Chris McCool, who is the chief state prosecutor for Fayette, Lamar, and Pickens counties, has switched from the Democratic to the Republican party, according to a statement from the Alabama GOP.
