The Tuscaloosa Police Department Juvenile Division is searching for 13-year-old Destiny Schaetzle, who disappeared from her home Sunday evening. She is believed to possibly be a runaway and might lie about her name if confronted. Anyone with information should contact Tuscaloosa Police or Crime Stoppers.

This Friday, the Tuscaloosa Police Athletic League will host its annual book bag and school supplies giveaway at the PAL gym beginning at 4:00pm. Two hundred sixty book bags will be given away as well as other school supplies.

49-year-old Deborah Diane Prater, who was doused in gasoline and lit on fire by her ex-boyfriend has died. Prater had been hospitalized since the attack Sunday morning.

The Montgomery Humane Society says it has run out of dry food to give about 140 dogs housed there and is asking for donations to help feed the animals. It says it will continue accepting animals, in spite of funding problems.

Tomorrow House Republicans are heading toward a vote on a slimmed-down bill to address the immigration crisis on the boarder. The measure would send in National Guard troops and speed unaccompanied migrant youths back to Central America.

In other news, U.S. consumers are said to be more confident about the economy than they have been in nearly 7 years as the Conference Board's confidence index rose to 90.9 in July from an upwardly revised 86.4 in June. This is the third straight increase in the index and the highest reading since October 2007.

The Justice Department has filed suit against the Pennsylvania State Police, saying its physical fitness tests discriminate against women and that many components of the test aren't a business necessity.
