Local authorities arrested 26-year-old Jarvis Reed, who was accused of raping a woman at gunpoint at a secluded lot off JVC Road.  Reed was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail, charged with Rape 1st Degree and Sodomy 1st Degree. His bond totaled $120.000.

Cobb County Georgia District Attorney Vic Reynolds says Justin Ross Harris will not face the death penalty if convicted in the murder of his 22-month-old son, Cooper. Harris faces charges including malice murder, felony murder, and cruelty to children.

This Saturday, local volunteers will partner with more than 50 multi-denominational churches to serve neighbors during A Day of Hope through the Hope Initiative.
