According to the City of Northport, in addition to assisting the West Alabama Food Bank this holiday season, the Northport Police Department has teamed up with Turning Point in support of their Santa's Sleigh Program, which provides Christmas gifts to women, men, and children starting a new life after domestic abuse. Southview Elementary School's fourth grade students are collecting cans of Campbell soup for a "Canstruction, Jr. Project," in which they will work with an engineer to create a design using cans of Campbell soup. All soup collected will be donated to the West Alabama Food Bank after the project's completion.
