Both the number of adults who did not get needed care because of cost and the number of people who got treatment but had problems paying their bills dropped at least 6 percent.

The number of Alabamians picking a health insurance plan in federal marketplace is nearly triple the rate from a year ago. The Department of Health and Human Services announced that more than 126,000 Alabamians had picked a plan by Jan. 9.
