• According to our daily, the restoration of Tuscaloosa Police Department's East Precinct in Alberta should be complete before April 1st, the same time frame expected for the completion of the new West Precinct on Culver Rd. However, the rebuilding of some city facilities damaged or destroyed by the April 27th tornado are only in the planning stages.

 

  • In state news, Wednesday, the House Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee is expected to consider legislature for Alabama motorists to move over for garbage trucks, as they currently do for emergency vehicles.

 

  •  In other news, a National Association for Business Economics survey shows that while business economists oppose the mandated spending cuts that took effect Friday in the absence of a budget deal, many support deficit reduction with about half saying it should be done only or mostly with spending cuts focusing on entitlement programs.

 

  • And in other news, Seffner, Florida authorities say it is unlikely they'll ever recover the body of 36-year-old Jeff Bush, who was swallowed by a sink hole that opened under his home as he slept. The home is currently being demolished.
