The Tuskegee Airmen Were Return To The Place They Were Initiated 75-Years
I have read everything I could get my hands on and seen every movie, documentary and TV special about the Tuskegee Airmen, first group of black fighter pilots to fight during World War II.
I had the pleasure of meeting Elijah James Oliver Jr. at a ceremony in Birmingham in 2012. I can’t explain the feeling I had when I shook his hand. It’s a moment I remember like it was yesterday.
Ten of the Tuskegee Airmen returned to the place they were initiated 75-years ago on March 22, 1941 The Tuskegee Airmen were honored Tuesday at the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic site at Moton Field.
I wish I could have been there. The Tuskegee Airmen hold a very important place in American History!
