It took only eight hours over two days to find Detroit homeowner Theodore Wafer guilty of second-degree murder and manslaughter in the killing of an unarmed African American teenager.

Renisha McBride was shot by Wafer through a screen door on November 2 hours after she crashed into a parked car a half mile from his house. It’s still a mystery why she was at his home.

Prosecutors think she may have been looking for help. Wafer was ordered to jail to await sentencing on August 21. Wafer could get life in prison. Read more here.
