On this day April 4th 1968 at approximately 6:05 P.M., a shot rang out that changed history.

This is the day Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was in my room doing my homework. I heard a scream come from the living room when my parents heard the news.

This was truly a sad day for America. Riots broke out everywhere. The riots were so bad in Washington and Memphis the National Guard were sent to control the crowds. Read more about the assassination of Dr. King.
