Today in Black Music History: Bob Marley Born and Honored by Hollywood
This date in Black music history: Robert Nesta "Bob" Marley was born in Nine Mile, Saint Ann, Jamaica in 1945.
After a long and successful career that began with a string of hits in the early 1960's, Marley died of cancer in 1981. He was posthumously honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2001.
