Chris Brown changed the game for couples around the world when he declared his love for his ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran. The R&B crooner surprised fans with his "Back to Sleep (Remix)," which featured Usher, who's finally getting back to his roots and bellowing sultry hymns that make panties wet, and Zayn, who's making his first guest appearance since leaving boy group One Direction.

If you're a true music fan, and are able to recount the most recent remixed R&B smash, then "Back To Sleep (Remix)" should take your mind back six years, to 2010, when Keri Hilson and Soulja Boy closed out an era of I-just-want-to-get-up-and-dance feel-good R&B hits with all-star line ups like "Turnin' Me On (Remix) and "Turn My Swag on (Remix)," respectively. But you can't forget about the songs that kicked off this period of musical greatness like Usher's "Love In This Club (Remix)" featuring Beyonce and Lil Wayne, Jamie Foxx's "Blame It" (Remix) featuring Busta Rhymes, Lil Wayne and T-Pain.

Needless to say, Chris Brown's recent sonic feat is a sound that just might bring the era of [genuinely good] remixes back.

In fact, according to the Virginia-bred superstar, this four-and-a-half-minute remix is the first of three R&B cuts to be remixed in honor of his latest hit. "Round Two" will feature Miguel, August Alsina and Bryson Tiller while Tank and Tyrese - two-thirds of TGT - will appear on "Round Three."

While Breezy is focused on trying to be all things musically innovative circa 2016, The BoomBox is helping you remember the remixes made better over the years with the help of Chris Brown and his vocals. Okay, Karrueche! [Editor's Note: Someone had to say it].

    "Umbrella (Cinderella Remix)"

    Rihanna Feat. Chris Brown

In 2005, Rihanna was recording Music of the Sun, but by the time Jay-Z hooked her up with Chris Brown in 2007 for her "Umbrella (Cinderella Remix)" she was a good girl about to go bad forever. While the original song was a chart-topping smash with her vocals alone, CB's presence boosted record sales - and ignited rumors of the two possibly dating.

    "I Luv This S--- (Remix)"

August Alsina Feat. Chris Brown & Trey Songz

While Algust Alsina's breakout single, "I Luv This," was making its way up the charts with the help of fellow Southerner Trinidad James, it was the remix - with vocals from Chris Brown and Trey Songz - that helped the track reach the top of Billboard's R&B charts. Alsina even admits it in the song. "See, I went and got a little help / To get the whole club poppin like Freaknik." The trio is far from coy with their blunt lyricism, but who really cares? We love this shhh...

    "Simple Things (Remix)"

Miguel Feat. Chris Brown & Future

Like many things, great art takes time. If a single is ever remixed, it's typically to increase sales across the board, thus, it usually drops within a few months of the original track. However, that wasn't the case with Miguel's "Simple Things." The California-born singer didn't tap Chris Brown and Future for the remix until a year-and-a-half later after the song's release. And well, the track speaks for itself.

    "Main Chick (Remix)"

Kid Ink Feat. Chris Brown & Tyga

Unlike most artists, Tyga featured Chris Brown on the original and remixed versions of his 2014 hit, "Main Chick." But unlike most tracks, Tyga didn't create a visual for the first version of "Main Chick," but he did for the second. The remix featured R&B/Hip-hop's current bad boy crew - Kid Ink, Tyga and Chris Brown. Overall, Breezy didn't just make the track better, he helped it from the start.

    "Birthday Cake (Remix)"

    Rihanna Feat. Chris Brown

After what Gawker called the couple's worst phase ever in 2009, Chris Brown and Rihanna seemingly began to reconcile in 2011. Then RiRi tapped her former beau for the "Birthday Cake" remix, which surprised her fans when it was first released. Many critics felt that the Barbados-bred beauty was sending the wrong message by collaborating with her abuser. Nevertheless, Rihanna lifted her two-year restraining order against Brown while maintaining her friendship with the singer.
