The National Weather Service has conformed that an EF-2 tornado touched down in Pickens County yesterday, and the massive storm was captured on video. The tornado above caused major damage near Aliceville, and the West Alabama Chapter of the Red Cross reports 75 people being displaced as a result of the tornado. The National Weather Service reports 13 homes destroyed and three homes damaged in McMullen.

The National Weather Service sent crews to Pickens County this morning to survey storm damage. They confirmed an EF-2 tornado touched down in McMullen off Martin Luther King Road in Pickens County.

Yesterday's severe weather outbreak resulted in tornado warnings being issued in Lamar, Fayette, Sumter, and portions of Tuscaloosa Counties.

Trees and power lines were reported to be down in Fayette County; fortunately no major damage or injuries have been reported.

The American Red Cross has opened a shelter for those displaced by the storm in Pickens County.
