The severe weather threat is continuing across Alabama on Friday afternoon and a tornado watch was issued for much of the central and northern parts of the state.

Tuscaloosa County is included in the watch, which will stay in effect until 8PM tonight. Here is a look at all of the counties under the watch.

Rain is expected throughout the evening and into Saturday for many places in Alabama, which will add to the totals already received from tropical storm Cindy. Most places have received between 2 to 4 inches but as much as 7 inches of rain has been reported in some areas. Tuscaloosa County, along with much of the state, continues to be under a flash flood watch on Friday as well.

Our station will have weather updates throughout the afternoon and will break in with live coverage if our listening area goes under a tornado warning. Remember that the University of Alabama has tornado shelters across campus and there are also shelters across the county if you need a place to go.
