The Tuscaloosa County grand jury has cleared a Tuscaloosa police officer who shot and killed a man who struck and struggled with the officer.
According to al.com the officer used his taser and when the suspect, Jeffory Tevis, pulled out the prongs and rushed at the officer, police say the officer drew his gun and shot him twice.

Tevis, a 50-year-old white man, died at the scene. Investigators say the TPD officer acted appropriately under the circumstances.

The officer was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
