The Tuscaloosa Police Department has been cleared in the death of Anthony Ware earlier this summer. Ware who ran after police responded to a call about a man sitting on a porch and armed with a pistol was hiding in a heavily wooded area in Alberta.

After some time, he was found and pepper sprayed. Despite rigorous CPR from TPD officers he stopped breathing and was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center in Northport, where Ware died.

According to al.com an autopsy found Ware had recently used cocaine, methamphetamine and alcohol, and died of drug toxicity.

Therefore a grand jury has determined there is no need for further investigation nor any action that needs to be taken.
