Tuscaloosa to Host the Ninth Annual Mayor’s Cup 5K on Saturday, April 25th

For the 9th year running, the City of Tuscaloosa will host the Mayor’s Cup 5K presented by Mercedes-Benz U.S. International on Saturday morning April 25th in Government Plaza.

The Mayor’s Cup is designed to increase awareness and raise funds for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative. This initiative focuses on 21 pre-kindergarten classrooms and more than 250 preschool students throughout the City of Tuscaloosa. This race has raised more than $140,000 for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative since its inception!

If you’ve ever competed in the race or been to Government Plaza to enjoy the festivities, you know it’s a party complete with a live DJ, fun for the kids and door prizes after the race!

Race with the Mayor and win for kids! The race will also include awards for top male and female participants, as well as a 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group. Both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate in the 5K. This is a rain or shine event.
