This evening, the UPS center in Tuscaloosa (3514 Greensboro Ave) will hold a blood drive in remembrance of fallen driver Raphael Sullivan.

This is only one of the ways UPS gives back to the community while remembering one of its own.  Raphael was a UPS driver, who was known and loved by many in the Tuscaloosa community before being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

Since his passing, his coworkers have been working to honor his memory and decided last year to hold a blood drive in his honor. The Red Cross has been a stabilizing force in Tuscaloosa for many years, providing disaster relief, health and safety training, blood collection and other life-changing community services. As UPS has also assisted in community-related assistance and holds health and safety training in high regard in addition to the services provided, holding a blood drive to benefit the Red Cross was the perfect idea.

This year's event is today from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All suitable donors are encouraged to give.
