For a few years, Tuscaloosa YFC has partnered with other community advocacy groups and sponsors to host annual lock-ins for young men. One has been held for young ladies, and another is in the works!

This Friday, April 13, the doors of Tuscaloosa Youth for Christ/Campus Life (1401 McFarland Blvd N) will open for a girls lock in, which will end on Saturday, April 14 at 6am.

Event organizers say during this time, the teens will enjoy the following:

Dessert and Ice cream bar!
Pancake breakfast!
Buffet style dinner!
Beauty and makeup segment by Shontè Baltes!
Vision boards!
Dance party!
S’mores bar!
Special guest segment!

In addition, if teen parents would like to attend, childcare will be provided.  All participants must have release forms signed by a parent.  Otherwise, they will not be permitted to stay.

Lock-ins are but one way for teens to receive guidance outside of the home and classroom.  It puts them in touch with community leaders who offer inspirational messages and advice, often sharing parts of their personal life stories.
