Tuscaloosa’s Location is Optimal for Road Trips

Every now and then, I think we all get frustrated with life in Tuscaloosa and consider moving somewhere else.  It is during these times that I decide to take a road trip.

One thing I've always loved about living in Tuscaloosa is its proximity to other tourist-attracting cities. It takes 3 to 4 hours to get to Atlanta, Chattanooga, Nashville, Memphis, New Orleans, Gulfport, Biloxi, and Mobile.  Add another hour or two and you're in Destin and other cities that provide just the right amount of down time to maintain your sanity.

This weekend, my aunt, my sister, my daughter, my cousin, and I took a road trip to Gulfport to visit another aunt and her family.  While we were there, we did a little shopping, attended a Mardi Gras parade, and stopped by the beach. (My daughter has been begging to go to the beach ever since we left Destin in July.)  We left around 6pm last night and were home in time enough to get a good night's rest before returning to work this morning.

I don't do much during the week, but the weekend is MY time
