Topping the gossip headlines is news that SOMEBODY is expecting Tyler Perry's first child.

Now, while maternity has not been confirmed, Perry has been dating 28-year-old Ethiopian Gelila Bekele off and on for aboout 5 years.  Come on mathematicians! That means they started dating when she was just 23 and he was 40.  Nice little age gap, but who am I to talk? Been there, done that.

Most critics are saying that this is just a ploy in attempt to mask his homosexuality.  I don't know.  What I DO know is that he's admitted to having issues with his sexuality, stemming from being abused at a young age.

Personally, I don't think that because a person has issues to overcome, he becomes what his issue is. For instance, if a woman has issues with her dad that result in her WANTING to search for love, and she sleeps with a few men in that search, I wouldn't call her a woman of ill repute. Similarly, if a person has financial problems that causes him to live check-to-check for a few months, I wouldn't call that person "broke." I'd say he's a man with financial difficulties.

The reason I feel this way is because I wholeheartedly believe The Bible and Proverbs 23:7 "For as a man thinks in his heart, so is he."  This passage describes those who are stingy and offering of their food and drink but do not mean it when they offer.  Kinda like when you have food and offer it to those around you but secretly hope they decline the offer. We ALL know how that is. LOL

Anyway, I do not count it impossible for those who have issues to be torn, not leaning to either particular side but walking the fine line between desire and morality/spiritual belief.  I think it is when one chooses one side over the other when a solid determination is made, when one willfully chooses to develop a pattern of "being."  So, as for me, I won't speculate about whether or not Mr. Perry impregnated his "beard" or if he's found a surrogate. Instead, I say, "Congratulations, Mr. Perry! I think you're going to be an awesome father!"
