The University of Alabama confirmed Monday that a student was found dead inside the Theta Chi fraternity house on Monday morning, according to AL.com.

The student was identified as Parker Alexander Jordan, a 22-year-old from Fort Worth, Texas.

At this time, the cause of death has not been released.

Steven Hood, the interim vice president for student affairs at Alabama, issued this statement.

"The University extends its deepest sympathies to Parker's family and friends," Hood said. "Parker was a valued member of our campus community and he will be missed."

Theta Chi recently held the grand opening for its new $6.8 million house on University Boulevard back on September 6.
