With July traditionally a low month for blood donations, many entities have been doing their part to increase donations. One of these is UPS. Most people in South Tuscaloosa remember UPS driver Raphael Sullivan. Raphael was a very friendly driver who was hard-working and loved by his customers. We lost him to cancer in March 2013. Since then, UPS Tuscaloosa has been searching for a way to honor his memory. With this in mind, Tuscaloosa's UPS at 3514 Greensboro Ave decided to host a blood drive in his memory. The drive will be held at the UPS facility on Greensboro Ave, Friday, July 24 from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The human body replenishes red blood cells in four to six weeks and plasma in about 24 hours. So, although your donation is life-saving, you are not losing in any way. Make lands to donate. You never know when the blood you've given may be needed by a loved one.
