Usher made sure to send a political statement during his performance at the 2016 BET Awards: "Don't Trump America."

While performing his latest single, "No Limit," the ATLien had the important message on the back of his shirt for the audience and viewers at home to see.

The shirt is likely a critique of presidential hopeful -- and presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump. Despite voicing racist, homophobic, sexist and Islamphobic opinions, Trump leads the major party in the race. The latest Washington Post/ABC news survey shows Trump behind by only 12 points behind Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee (51% to 39%). The Wall Street Journal/NBC news poll had Clinton leading by 5 points (46% to 41%).

The numbers are clearly too close to comfort for the singer, hence the warning to voters. And they got the message. "I love Usher's shirt. DON'T TRUMP AMERICA!" read one tweet from an approving fan. "Y'all see @Usher's shirt says "Don't Trump America?" The theme tonight has been Celebrate Prince's life & keep trump out the WH. #BETAwards," read another supporting tweet.

This isn't the first time that the 37-year-old performed with a message on his shirt. Last year during the Essence Festival, Usher's shirt read: "Have we truly achieved our independence?" On the back, it read "Juneteeth" and "July Fourth" except the latter was crossed out.
