Using Fabric on Walls
Recently, I've become intrigued by textured walls. More specifically, fabric!
There's a wall in a building I frequent that has fabric-covered walls. It looks so sleek and adds a bit of sophistication without being too much.
See how it has a slight shimmer in the light? This is what it looks like up close.
Now, my budget won't allow me to go that upscale just yet, but I was interested enough to do a little research on applying fabric as wallpaper and actually found an article.
So, I started a project over the weekend to enhance the half bath in my master bedroom.
I figured I'd use a fabric I already had just in case it didn't turn out as well as I'd like.
I've only completed half of it because I want to change some electrical things; but so far, I'm pleased with my progress. I still have to trim the excess, and I'm going to add molding around the top and then sand and paint the existing pinkish-peachish tiles. I'm thinking of going with a black or silver. I'm not really sure yet. What I do know is I'm having fun!
(Oh! And it was stated in the referenced article-- or comments, I can't remember --that this technique for applying fabric to walls is an easy way to bring personality and style to apartments and rentals without damaging the walls.)
