Summer has arrived! What does that mean? If nothing else, it's sandal season. Along with sandal season is the commitment to foot care, and based on the experience I had yesterday, Village Nail Bar in the Shoppes at Legacy Park just MAY be my go-to.

My coworkers have been going on and on about this spot for a few months now. So, I decided to check them out. As soon as I arrived and signed in, I was offered a glass of wine. *side eye*

While I sipped, I started to look for my nail color. Oh, you didn't think I said no, did you? Heart issues run in my family. So, I enjoyed a glass for heart health, of course!

Once my color was chosen, I was taken to the station to get my manicure. The gentleman who did my manicure was kinda quiet but not rude. I attempted to get him to talk and asked where he was from. He said he was from Chattanooga and that he'd been here for four weeks. Now, that "Chattanooga" got a huge side eye from me, but I digress.

So, once my manicure was done, I went to sit in Shakira's station for my pedicure. In route, she says, "Would you like a glass of wine?" My neck snapped to the side really quickly! Look, that wine was GOOD, and I really wanted another glass, but I declined this time. I didn't say it at the time, but I was afraid of falling asleep during my pedicure. I didn't want to be in there snoring and stuff. So, I just decided to pass.

How about Village Nail Bar lines their foot tubs with plastic. This is for sanitation purposes. It's a step beyond basic cleaning. Essentially, each customer is getting a "new" tub since one's feet never go directly into the basin.

So, I sit in the chair and unload all of my cares. Shakira and I make small talk about skin care, hair care, sanitation, and even life experiences. She made me feel very comfortable. I'm not sure if it was her demeanor or the green tea aroma that was added to the water in which my feet soaked.

After removing my existing polish and trimming my nails, she covered my feet and legs with a mask.

Once the mask was on, she wrapped hot towels around my legs. When I tell you I felt like I'd experienced a taste of heaven.... Seriously, all of the stress of the past few weeks of my life seemed to have gone away instantly.

Once my toenails were polished, and I was placed in the spa flip-flops, I went to dry. I think I sat there another 30 minutes. I completely forgot about leaving! THAT is what you call relaxed!

I chose green because it's unlike my usual choice.

I left Village Nail Bar already planning my return trip.
