Watch Gene Stallings Get Honored During Alabama-Texas A&M Game

Just a day after leaving the hospital, former Alabama and Texas A&M head coach Gene Stallings was at Kyle Field to be honored during Saturday night’s game.

Coach Stallings suffered a heart attack one week ago and spent most of the last week at Baylor University Medical Center, but he refused to miss this game. The Aggies were honoring the 1967 team, which won the Southwest Conference and defeated No. 8 Alabama and Bear Bryant in the Cotton Bowl.

WBRC’s Rick Karle shared video from the special moment at College Station on Saturday night as Stallings stood proud among his former players to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that team. See it for yourself in the video below.

Alabama held on to win the game 27-19 to move to 6-0 on the season.
