Grab your family or a friend and head outside tonight to watch the International Space Station as it flies over Tuscaloosa.

According to NASA's website, residents all across the state of Alabama will get an extended look at the ISS as it crosses through the sky on Monday night. While this isn't an uncommon sight, folks around Tuscaloosa and west Alabama should get one of its better views on this pass.

Here's what you need to know. The ISS will be visible for four minutes beginning at 8:46 PM. It will first appear from the west and disappear to the south/southeast while traveling about 30 degrees above the horizon. Keep in mind that the horizon is zero degrees and directly above head is 90 degrees. That means that it will be flying about a third of the way up from the horizon.

While it'll still be hot and humid outside, the forecast calls for clear skies so it should be optimal viewing for Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas.
