Last Monday, my niece celebrated her 19th birthday. I asked her what she'd planned for it. She said she didn't have plans. So, I asked her if she wanted to take a weekend trip. Of course!

Everybody who knows me knows I'm always looking for a bargain when it comes to travel... Well, when it comes to EVERYTHING really, but definitely when it comes to travel. So, I went online and did my regular search for condo rentals and hotel rooms. But this time, I felt led to check a site I don't normally use. I was able to secure a $300-400 hotel room a block away from Beale St. for less than $150!

So, after throwing a little gas in my 4-cyl. (LOVE IT!), my niece, my sister, my daughter, and I left for Memphis on Saturday afternoon. Once we checked into our hotel, we went to grab a bite to eat and them embarked on enjoying the night life. We decided to take a horse and carriage ride first. Then, my daughter and I stopped to get her a little ice cream before heading back to the hotel, leaving my sister and niece to enjoy more adult activities.

I set my alarm to wake me at 7:30 a.m. so we could go to the pool before checkout. Once at the pool, I set another alarm for 9:30 a.m. so I'd know when it was time to leave. I wanted to make sure we were dressed, packed, and downstairs in time to view the marching of the ducks.

Even after checking out of the hotel, my room card worked at the parking deck until 4:00 p.m. So, we opted to walk to Beale St. for something of a brunch. After eating, we got in the car and went to the National Civil Rights Museum before hitting the mall. After a little shopping, we hit the road home.

Quick trip, little money spent. For more pictures, check my IG.
