If you've come over the bridge from Northport into Downtown Tuscaloosa, chances are you've seen building has been demolished. What's taking its place?

We're living to see an unprecedented time for the Tuscaloosa area, with the rapid development and growth, including the downtown area.

The corner of University Boulevard and Lurleen Wallace Boulevard is being cleared for what is being called Downtown Rock Point. The $3 million project has announced its first occupant. A coffee shop.

Birmingham's O'Henry's Coffees proudly roasts its own beans and is ready to expand down I-20/59 into Tuscaloosa.

According to a report in The Tuscaloosa News, this is just the first announcement for the new 3-story building. The plan also calls for another retail store and a restaurant with a large outdoor courtyard. Plus, residential spaces once completed.

This football season, if someone returns to Tuscaloosa for the first time in years, they are in for a SHOCK! Big things are happening!
