Who is Anthony of Anthony’s Italian Kitchen?

As a huge advocate of supporting local businesses, a few months ago, I saw something interesting and took a picture of it. You have to read this!

During the month of March, our radio station participated in Munch Madness, determining the best restaurant in the Tuscaloosa metro area. The winner was Anthony's Italian Kitchen. So, everyone from the station gathered there for lunch one afternoon.

On the huge chalkboard in the restaurant is written the following:

Our son Anthony lives in R----, Uganda, where he works to spread the gospel and help them become self-sufficient. The ministry works in four areas Biblical discipleship, water purification, education, and medical services.

 

Two-thirds of our profits go to supporting these endeavors.

The message alone was enough for me to want to support the business again, but the fact that the food is good and affordable and that all of this was neatly written in chalk really impressed me. So, yes, I will be visiting Anthony's Italian Kitchen again, and I encourage you to check it out if you haven't already.
