Will 18 Year-Old Taylor Townsend Be The Next African-American Tennis Sensation.

Both of my favorite tennis players are out of the French Open. Personally I think it is time for them to give it up. I would like to see Serena out on top.

There is a young African-American tennis player on the rise.  It’s 18 year old Taylor Townsend. Taylor Townsend has won the 2012 Australian Open Junior tournament. She was a finalist at the 2013 Wimbledon junior tournament. She was rated the top-ranked junior in the world.

Despite these accomplishments the UTSA official refused to enter Taylor Townsend in the 2012 junior U.S. Open.

Taylor has advanced to the third round of the French Open making her the youngest American to advance since 2003. Read about Taylor Townsend here.
