This morning, Pretty Brown Girls Club #88 hosted its second Tuscaloosa Community Clean Up Day today. As community activity advocates, we made it our business to be a part.

At the first event in May, we had a team of four members.

This time, we were 12 deep!

The majority of the group started in the lot in front of Skyland Elementary while a few went down 2nd Avenue. Eventually, the entire group came to 2nd Avenue East, where the bulk of our collected trash was gathered between 39th Avenue East and James I. Harrison Parkway.

Though it was extremely hot even that early in the morning, we worked together as a team and collected numerous bags full of trash! It was amazing to see how much trash was in the areas we just cleaned two months ago, which means there is a blatant disregard for keeping our communities clean. We have to do better!
