According to the Tuscaloosa News, Faurecia has announced plans to lay off 132 workers at its Northport plant because of market conditions. However, the layoffs will not affect the Cottondale plant.

AL.com reports that an Amber Alert has been issued for 2-year-old Brooklynne Enix, who was reported missing after her mother 36-year-old Kimberly Enix was found dead in her Knoxville, Tennessee home. Authorities say she might be with her biological father who has been charged with murder in the mother's death. They are said to possibly be traveling in a 2011 black, four-door Chevy Impala with Tennessee tag G6116U.

ABC3340 reports that Miles College students are reporting a breakdown in the campus alert system during Tuesday night's fatal shooting at an off campus apartment. Administration says emails and text messages were sent, but many students say they didn't get them.

A federal judge has blocked Alabama's effort to cut off Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood. According to The Montgomery Advertiser, U.S. District Judge Myron Thompson on Wednesday issued an order directing Alabama to restore funding to Planned Parenthood, which took Alabama to federal court, arguing the state didn't have a legal reason to end the Medicaid provider agreements with the two clinics in the state.

Tuscaloosa Police report that a trafficking in methamphetamine-ice investigation led to the arresting of 33-year-old William Padgett of Fairhope Saturday, October 24 in the 1400 block of Hargrove Rod in Tuscaloosa. 3.2lbs of meth-ice, marijuana, hydrocodone pills, and drug paraphernalia were recovered. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are pending. Padgett was taken to the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $221,000 bond.

Fox 6 reports that the family of Jared Gresham, who was killed in a crash on Highway 82 in Coker last week, is calling on the Alabama Department of Transportation to make changes at the intersection where multiple people have died in recent years.

A death investigation is underway in Hoover. ABC3340 reports two people were found dead inside a home in the Deer Valley neighborhood Wednesday morning.
