At some point in our lives, we've all heard the expression "Are you a man or a mouse?" It's usually used to challenge a person's courage vs cowardice. But for some reason, scientists think there isn't much difference between the two.

Why do I say that?  Because countless scientific studies claim to have found significant breakthroughs.... In lab mice.  They correlate these findings to treatments and cures for human ailments or characteristics of humans.  For example, the University of North Carolina's School of Medicine says that humans are genetically more like their fathers than their mothers.  And they got this information from where? A study of mice.

According to the National Human Genome Research Institute, mice are used in biomedical fields because they supposedly have close genetic and physiological similarities to humans and their genome can be easily manipulated and analyzed. What I want to know is how can they tell one mouse from another? I mean, they all look alike!

Then again, that's what is said about certain people. So, maybe the use of mice isn't so bad.
