The rate of HIV infection is steadily increasing, and experts say that many people living with the virus are unaware. This should not be the case.

In West Alabama, there are a number of agencies working to eradicate the number of new diagnoses. In order for this to happen, carriers of the virus must know they have it to keep from spreading it.

National HIV Testing Day is Wednesday, June 27. On this day, a free community health fair will be held at the Maude Whatley Health Center in the field behind the building. It will begin at 9am and end at 1pm.

In addition to free HIV tesing, there will be food, fun, services, door prizes, and more.

Everyone is welcome for this awesome community event, including vendors. However, vendors are encouraged to bring nice door prizes. To RSVP, contact Brittney Washington-Ball at (205) 614-6127 or brball@whatleyhealth.org by June 1.
