(AP) An Alabama judge says a woman should die for the 2010 murder of her common-law husband's 3-year-old son. The judge sentenced Heather Leavell-Keaton to death by lethal injection yesterday, upholding jurors' recommendation.

According to AL.com, Heather Leavell-Keaton murdered her common law husband's 3-year-old son four years ago and recklessly caused the death of his 4-year-old sister. She is said to have cooked anti-freeze into the children's food.

Leavell-Keaton's attorney says his client should be spared the death sentence because "she's a spiritual person now" and that the death penalty is never required. However, the Mobile District Attorney says Leavelle-Keaton's actions are worthy of the death penalty.
Many of us have used the terminology that a person convicted of a crime, especially against children, should be placed "under the jail." Well, in this case, she may not be under the jail, but Leavell-Keaton is definitely headed to her place under the ground.
