On Saturday, Hunt brought in some Miami Dolphins players including Alabama alum, Jaylen Waddle, to Broward County Detention Center to give them the message that they are still able to achieve great things.

Birmingham native, Sam Shade, has been named Miles College new head coach after replacing Bo Nix’s father Patrick Nix at Pinson Valley. Shade was a defensive back at Alabama and continued on to play for the Cincinnati Bengals as well as Washington in the NFL.

Alabama fans will always have an opinion on the way the Crimson Tide football program is being run, but recently assistant coaches have been a controversial topic. Offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien and defensive coordinator Pete Golding have been in the hot seat especially after Alabama’s unexpected loss to Texas A&M.

Friday, the Jemison Panthers made their way to the Central Falcon’s stadium. Unfortunately, Jemison failed in their efforts on both offense and defense, falling to Central 40-10.

Coach Oats said he believes these three freshmen, after seeing what they are capable of in such a short amount of time in practice, will have a chance to really help the team this spring.

Next week Shelby will take on the Marbury Bulldogs at Marbury. Central will see if they can avoid penalties at their next away game against the Selma Saints.

That being said, Earle made his notable impression long before this game. From the minute he got to Alabama over the summer he proved himself to be an explosive player and a consistent route runner. He has even been compared to former WR, Jaylen Waddle.

Mac Jones earned the Patriots starting quarterback position and is set to make his debut against his former teammate Tua Tagovailoa at 3:45 p.m. CT on Sept. 12. Jones will be the first rookie quarterback to start in week one for the Patriots since Drew Bledsoe back in 1993. Not only were Jones and Tagovailoa both shaped under the dynasty of Nick Saban, but they both led the Crimson Tide to national championships. This matchup is going to be one to watch.

Friday will be a travel day for the Tide, limiting the amount of on-field work that the team can do ahead of its matchup with the 'Canes. It is vital that the Tide takes advantage of the final few hours of preparation to ensure mental errors do not derail its goal of successfully defending the 2020 national championship.

That’s not to mention the Crimson Tide did a phenomenal job recruiting at the wide receiver position this year. All four incoming wide receivers bring something to the table that Alabama’s offense could benefit from. JoJo Earle being productive with the ball, Agiye Hall being a powerhouse, Ja'Corey Brooks with his route running and Christian Leary bringing speed.
