Chance the Rapper, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and others among this year’s most charitable celebrities.
The aforementioned artists and others are featured on DoSomething.org's 2017 Celebs Gone Good list, which recognizes celebrities who used their fame to create social change.
Of course, Chano tops the list for his ongoing endeavors to help the Chicago Public School system. This year, the rapper launched the New Chance Arts & Literature Fund to support arts in the classroom and raised $2 million through his charity foundation SocialWorks. Finally, Chance is working with Barack Obama on his My Brother's Keepers Alliance.
Meanwhile, Rihanna has taken her charitable endeavors global through her Clara Lionel Foundation, which she founded in 2012. This year, RiRi met with French President Emmanuel Macron and the First Lady, Brigitte Macron, in Paris to discuss ways to fund her global education initiative.
Finally, Nicki has been a supporter of several charities including the Red Cross, Save the Music Foundation and the Get Schooled Foundation. But this year, the Queen Barbz vowed to set up an official foundation to help college students pay off their student loans.
If you recall, back in May, Nicki became one-woman financial aid office when she offered to pay her fans college tuition and student loan debts via Twitter. Overall, she paid $18,000 to students who really needed financial help.
Other celebs gracing the list include Beyoncé, who was No. 1 last year, Colin Kaepernick, who donated $50,000 per month to various charities, Zendaya, Lin Manuel Miranda, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, Jennifer Lopez and Bruno Mars.
