Alabama Women’s Basketball is Headed to College Park
TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The NCAA Tournament Selection Show signals the official start of March Madness, one of the most thrilling and unpredictable times in college basketball. After weeks of anticipation, the Selection Show on Sunday revealed the teams that will compete in this year's prestigious NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament.

Among the field of 68 teams, Alabama earned the No. 5 seed in the College Park Region of the Birmingham bracket. The Crimson Tide will face No. 12 Green Bay Phoenix on Saturday, March 22. Should the Crimson Tide advance past the second round, they'll have the chance to play again in their home state of Alabama.
The Crimson Tide had previously submitted a bid to host the opening rounds, but after a first-round exit to the Florida Gators in the Southeastern Conference Tournament, they were no longer in contention for that opportunity. Maryland will now host the first two rounds of the tournament.
Despite the setback, the Crimson Tide remains focused on their ultimate goal of a deep run in the tournament. Under the leadership of head coach Kristy Curry, the Crimson Tide has earned its third consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance and fourth in the last five seasons. During this stretch, they have advanced to the second round twice.
The Crimson Tide wrapped up the regular season with an impressive 23-8 record, highlighted by key victories over LSU, Michigan State, Mississippi State, and Richmond. They earned a first-round bye in the SEC Tournament but were narrowly defeated by the Gators in a heart-wrenching 63-61 loss.
Though the Crimson Tide enters the tournament on a two-game losing streak (Florida & Oklahoma), their dominant 13-1 non-conference record and a nine-game win streak to start the season showcase their resilience and potential for success.
