September 28th, 2024, the day the Bulldogs come to town. What a weekend it will be in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. A rematch of the 2023 SEC Championship will be one for the ages as Jalen Milroe goes head-to-head against a stout Georgia defense that held the past three teams they played to 18 points. Carson Beck will look to walk onto Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium and attempt to remain the number one quarterback in the country.

What are some of the things the Crimson Tide needs to do to pull off the upset against Georgia? For one, the penalties. There's been a struggle on offense and defense with a lack of discipline on the front five on offense and the front seven on defense. Following a dominant game against the Badgers in Madison, Wisconsin, the Tide will go into a two-week preparation period in an attempt to clean things up before the Bulldogs arrive. Their first bye week is the weekend of September 21st after they arrive home from Madison.

Second of all, everyone needs to be in the same headspace. Coaches and players alike have one common goal, Upset the number two team in the country. Alabama began the season with one of their lowest rankings in the preseason since the pre-Saban era. With near-perfect play calling, perfect execution of assignments, strong blocking from the front five, and discipline on defense. This team can upset Georgia and move themselves ever closer to that coveted "No. 1" spot.

To come into Tuscaloosa and take on Alabama in front of a home crowd will undoubtedly be Georgia's biggest challenge up to this point in the season. When the 28th rolls around, Alabama will not be the only team with something to prove. The real question is who can make more of a statement? An Alabama team that has various issues on both sides of the ball, or a Georgia team with a chip on their shoulders having not beaten Alabama since the National Championship of the 2021 season. Let's see if Alabama still holds the key to being and beating the top team in the nation.
