GREEN BAY, Wis. - One of the top linebacker prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft is headed to the Philadelphia Eagles. Jihaad Campbell, known as the do-it-all linebacker with elite range, instincts, and versatility, was selected in the first round as the No. 31 overall pick on Thursday night.

A dynamic presence on the field and a respected leader in the locker room, Campbell was a key contributor in a loaded linebacker room at Alabama. Campbell leaves behind a tremendous legacy at Alabama, where he tailed 186 total tackles, 5.5 sacks, two interceptions, two forced fumbles, and five pass deflections.

Now, he enters the Eagles organization with confidence and a relentless work ethic. During Wednesday's media availability, he expressed his ambition, stating, "I mean, it's always been a goal for me to be number one in my position - and really, to be number one in anything I do. I'm a competitive person. That's just how I view the game and how I play the game," said Campbell when asked if it's a goal of his to win Defensive Rookie of the Year.

That mindset, paired with his athletic gifts, makes him a potential cornerstone for the Eagles' defense for years to come. The Eagles have not only secured a highly skilled and versatile player, but also a young man with the drive and mentality to lead.

Additionally, Campbell's selection continues Alabama's dominant presence in the NFL. The Crimson Tide maintains a strong record for the most first-round picks since 2019 now with 23, and becomes the 83rd first-round pick in Alabama history. With Campbell's arrival, the Eagles gain more than just a linebacker - they get a playmaker, a competitor, and a future star.
